Narakasura was a demon who tormented people and imprisoned 16,000 women. Lord Krishna, along with Satyabhama, defeated Narakasura and freed the women. People celebrate this victory by lighting lamps and bursting crackers. Deepavali symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.
